Relive Ol' Blue Eyes and His Music !
Christopher Jago has always loved music ever since he was young. Starting off in his elementary school chorus and the band, and continuing on through middle school, music has always played a major role in his life. His love for music ranges over many genres from jazz to hip hop. However, one specific type of music was always in his life thanks to his family "oldies". Growing up with Johnny Maestro and the Brooklyn Bridge, Frankie Valli, the Rat Pack and Bobby Darin (of course only naming a few) greatly influenced him. Having grown up with these greats, when he first started karaoke at the age of eleven, his song of choice was "Unchained Melody" by the incredible Righteous Brothers.
As he reached his high school years, his focus on singing shifted to acedemics and sports. In spite of this, the Colonia High School choir director approached him and coaxed him into trying out. From that point, not only did he sing in the choir, but it erupted into singing in the chorus and show choir as well. He happily continued this until he graduated, where he turned more towards karaoke.
It wasn't until he turned 21, that he really started to sing by himself in public. Chris found himself bouncing from one establishment to another, at least 3 times a week to get his karaoke "fix" of Frank Sinatra & Bobby Darin. Hearing the crowds' applause and seeing their reaction was what drove him to continue. He loves to make people happy, and seeing how these songs brought smiles to faces and brought memories back to people, is the sole reason he loves to sing and continues to sing.
One night after a show, Joe & Jim went to Moby Dicks' to discuss how the show went, and saw Chris singing "Fly Me to the Moon". It was obvious to both of them that he had the talent to join the Golden Memories family.
They asked him that night if he could come to the next show and sing a couple of songs. His response to them was "that would be awesome". The audience loved him. Joe & Jim asked him that night to be a permenant part of the show.
He now continues to wow the crowd at every show with his Sinatra Tribute, he also sings a couple of Bobby Darin
& Michael Buble tunes.
On 4/15/11 Chris would take first place in the Union County Performing Arts Center Talent show. We knew he could do it !We at Golden Memories are proud to have him as part of the show!!!
***Note from Chris***
First, I would like to thank Joe & Jimmy for opening their arms to this young kid, singing songs that are and will always be eternal. Performing these songs is amazing due to their level of talent and professionalism.
Secondly, I want to thank all of the people who come out to the shows, for their love and support. Without you, I would have no reason to sing, so for that, I thank you ! Singing with Golden Memories Enterprises will be something I take with me for the rest of my life and I hope that I continue to enjoy this experience for a long time coming !
